Statement of Faith

We believe that there is only one God, who has existed forever and is the Creator of heaven and earth and everything in it.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Isaiah 46:9 Remember the former things, those of long ago;

I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.

Mark 12:32 "Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the One and Only Son of God and the Second Person of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified on a cross, died and was buried. We believe in the physical resurrection of Jesus on the third day. Jesus sits at the right hand of God making intercession for us and will return again to earth in power and glory.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I Corinthians 15:3-4 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Philippians 2:6-11 6 Who, being in very nature[a] God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7but made himself nothing, taking the very nature[b] of a servant, being made in human likeness.  8And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!

9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity. He convicts people of sin and draws people to Jesus. The Holy Spirit lives inside of each believer and helps believers to live the life that God has designed for them.

John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

John 16:8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment:

I Corinthians 3:16 Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?

We believe that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone. Individuals are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ as God’s Son and accepting Him personally as Savior, asking Him to come into our heart and to forgive our sins.

Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.

Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Romans 10:9-10 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

We believe that baptism demonstrates obedience to Christ and is a public statement of your faith. It is a way of showing that you have been washed free of sin by the acceptance of Jesus as Savior.

Acts 2:38-39 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

Romans 6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

We believe that the Lord’s Supper (Communion) was instituted by Jesus as a remembrance of Him. The bread represents His Body which was broken for us. The cup represents Jesus’ blood which washed away the sins of the world (1 Corinthians 11:23-29)

Mark 14:22-25 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take it; this is my body." 23Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, and they all drank from it. 24"This is my blood of the[a] covenant, which is poured out for many," he said to them. 25"I tell you the truth, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God."

I Corinthians 11:23-29 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." 25In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." 26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

27Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. 29For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.

We believe that God designed people to be in fellowship. The church is important for instruction, accountability, worship, prayer and support. The church is also a place to use the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

I Corinthians 12:4-7 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. 7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

We believe that all Scripture is true and inspired by God and is the supreme and final authority on its teachings.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
